Manada Dewanee
La Manada es la sección de un grupo scout que comprende a los niños de 8 a 12 años, los Lobatos. La sección se llama así porque está ambientada en El Libro de La Selva de Rudyard Kipling.
Los responsables de la sección son los Viejos Lobos, el jefe o dirigente de la Manada suele llamarse Akela, quien trabaja con ayudantes de la rama, denominados, según sus características, Baloo, Kaa, Raksha, etc.
Estructura
Es una sociedad de niños/as donde el pequeño grupo es la Manada. Para su organización se divide en seisenas.
La participación en las seisenas puede ser transitoria (durando por lo menos un ciclo de programa) y permite el cambio de una a otra para promover la sociabilidad del niño/a.
La rotación de los niños ayuda a la operación de la Manada, además que promueve la convivencia de la misma. Es recomendable utilizar el modelo transitorio con un lapso mínimo de un ciclo de programa.
Los seiseneros son elegidos por las seisenas, dando, desde esta etapa, nociones de democracia.
Aspectos destacados
La toma de decisiones en esta sección se realiza a través del Consejo de Roca, el cual está integrado por todos los miembros de la manada (niños y scouters) y presenta las siguientes características:
·En ellos se tratan solo determinados asuntoscomo: Recepción de integrantes.
·Despedida de lobatos que pasan a la Tropa Scout.
·Selección, aprobación y evaluación del calendario del ciclo de programa.
Marco simbólico
Descubrir el mundo con amigos en un ambiente de fantasía creativa.
La atmósfera especial que se vive en la manda, donde niñas y niños son parte importante de un grupo (manada) que hace cosas entretenidas e interesantes, se refuerza con el marco simbólico que tiene una ambientación basada en la fantasía creativa, misma que aprovecha la forma de pensamiento de los niños de esta edad, logrando desarrollar la propuesta del Moviendo Scout de una manera comprensiva y agradable para ello se apoya en tres dinamismos esenciales propios de la edad:
-El gusto por descubrir cosas nuevas.
-La necesidad de pertenecer a un nuevo grupo amigable.
-El interés por la fantasía como medio creador.
-Tiene como fondo motivador la novela de Rudyard Kipling “El libro de las Tierras Vírgenes”, elegida por Baden Powell para la rama menor del movimiento scout y mantenida en la actualidad.
Además se cuenta con otros elementos que enriquecen y apoyan al marco simbólico, como puede ser:
-Nombres y símbolos de la Selva.
-El color característico de la manada que es el amarillo.
-Un cubil.
-Una Bandera.
-El saludo «Tú y yo somos de la misma sangre».
-El uniforme (pañoleta, flor de lis, insignias de progresión, competencias, etc.).
-Totém.
-El Gran Clamor.
